Best Answer So far: Answered by: Christine - 59 Months Ago. Before recording existed, musicians had to perform in front of crowds to make a living. They did it, maybe not making a fortune, because they loved music.
Then as recording technologies improved, they became wildly rich beyond their dreams, as people bought records, cassettes, then CD's. The CD's being a high quality reproduction of the music, physically distributed, they no longer have to travel to perform. Some still do concerts, but really only to promote their records.
Now with the newest wave of technology we call the Internet, their wealth is being threatened. The same recordings that made them so much money, is not making as much money anymore. How dare the people make computer files from their high quality reproductions, and send it over the Internet!
So the recording industry want to step back into the good old past before the Internet. But not too far, not before the time of CD's. Just one step, to the perfect time in technology, when they made the most money. Of course, we should all agree to that. Let's just ban the Internet, and again enrich the lives of superstar musicians like Michael Jackson, so they can build Neverland.

Best Answer So far: Answered by: imisd - 60 Months Ago. Money is used in exchange for value. Normally you provide value, you're given money. Scammers pretend to give you something of amazing value for your money. If it sounds too good to be true....
So the first thing you gotta do: "Buyers beware!"
People have advocated that governments take more care to prevent scammers from operating. But can they really look at every transaction we make? Probably not. Can they give harsher penalties to those caught? Well often it's tough to distinguish incompetence with scams.
So where can you learn from other's experience? http://www.ripoffreport.com
Will people ever stop ripping each other off? Probably not. There will always be some people unable to find their true value, and try the easy way out to get easy money. Society is encouraging that behavior, by our respect of money blindly.
So we need to change, and NOT respect money... but respect where it came from.

The "Right to bear arms" had a great place in our history, with the honorable intention of giving power to the people, started in 17th century England. As our society and economy has matured, the powerful is more likely to steal elections than use their armies against us.
The right to bear arms is outdated thinking, because even if there were governmental persecution, it is more likely stopped by peaceful demonstrations than armed individuals. The success of the Orange Revolution in the Ukraine in recent history shows that we have all matured beyond the violence.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orange_revolution
I'm sure the fathers of our consitution would not want us to blindly follow their rules, without considering all the consequences. Besides, the right to bear arms does not preclude the ability for government to register your arms. But then again, how do you take the blinders off of NRA members? How do you get them to grow a brain?
With respect to gang violence, the problem is with their "fragile pride", easily shattered by any event. Police like to blame it on drugs and turf, but the truth is if somebody even looks at a gang member, his "pride" may force him to kill.

| My husband and I filed chapter 13 bankruptcy in 2006. Attorney not returning phone calls and letters written. Looking for another attorney. How do you do this? | 2 | |
| |
My husband and I filed chapter 13 bankruptcy in 2006. We have had major changes in our case since we filed. Namely, I had to quit working due to a back injury sustained when working as a nurse. My income is still included in our monthly budget.
I contacted our lawyer asking him to modify the payment plan. He wrote us a letter specifying that we did not need to lower or modify plan. He also did not include federal taxes and local city taxes in our plan. We now owe the IRS for 2007 over $4000. We sent a letter to him over 2 weeks ago, phone calls. No response from othe letter or phone calls.
I contacted a local bar association and they said that this is negligence. I believe we have serious issues that need addressed. We are paying this attorney good money for nothing it seems. |

Best Answer So far: Answered by: UrbanAngel - 64 Months Ago. Definitely contact the IRS as suggested. I would also make sure a letter outlining this situation and the recourse that you took is filed with the documents of your Chapter 13 bankruptcy.
A complaint needs to be filed with the Law Association. For the United States it is The National Bar Association - depending which state you are from
The objectives of the NBA "…shall be to advance the science of jurisprudence; improve the administration of justice; preserve the independence of the judiciary and to uphold the honor and integrity of the legal profession; to promote professional and social intercourse among the members of the American and the international bars; to promote legislation that will improve the economic condition of all American citizens, regardless of race, sex or creed in their efforts to secure a free and untrammeled use of the franchise guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States; and to protect the civil and political rights of the citizens and residents of the United States."
Their website is http://www.nationalbar.org If they do not represent your state, I am sure they would know where you should go from there.
I know in Ontario there is the Law Society of Upper Canada that governs over the conduct of lawyers. There is also a fund that was established to help people who hired lawyers that did not act honorably in representing their clients as well as the legal profession There may be a similar fund in the US but I'm not sure. I am sure the National Bar Association would be able to tell you that as well. Good luck and hope this helps.
