What is 'predicting' and 'foreshadowing' and what is the difference between them? How can I define "flashback'?

Foreshadowing hints at a possible outcome while predicting is stating what one believes an outcome to be.

A"flashback" is when you suddenly seem to go back in time to re experience a past event( I have them due to witnessing a traumatic event in my own past).

Foreshadowing is a technique used by writers to plant an idea in the mind of the reader (or movie viewer) of the possible future event.

Flashback is a technique used by writers to bring reader into the past, which provides helpful historical context.
